“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
Mrs. Beverly Ann Howard, age 65, departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Beverly touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.
Beverly was born May 29, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lois Cotton.
Beverly attended the public school system of Darlington County and graduated from Hartsville High School. After graduation, she entered the workforce, where her strong work led to success across a variety of fields. She was employed by Coker College and Dixie Cup in the housekeeping department. Beverly also worked in nursing as a personal home health care aide.
Beverly was a member of Hartsville Bible Baptist Church. Faith in Jesus Christ was a quiet but steady part of Beverly’s life.
Beverly enjoyed listening to old school music, traveling, and socializing with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandbabies, whom she adored.
Beverly was preceded in death by: her husband, Lucious Howard; sister, Lois “Pokey” Cotton Pate; and brothers, Eugene “Boy” Cotton Jr. and Ervin Lee Cotton.
Beverly leaves behind lasting memories that will be cherished by: her special friend, Richard “Treetop” Harris; daughter, Camry “Diamond” Howard; grandchildren: Caylyn Howard, Camiyah Howard and Jamel Pogue, Jr.; sisters: Earline Cotton, Connie (William) Gattison and Pandora (Ezekiel) Scott; brother, Ronnie Cotton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends.
While we miss Beverly dearly, we know she is now rejoicing in God’s presence, free from pain and full of eternal joy.
