“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Catherine Virginia Robinson, age 69, peacefully departed this life on July 5th, 2026. Born on July 30, 1956, in Halifax, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of William Thomas and Virginia Alice Paylor.

At an early age, Catherine’s family relocated to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she attended Central High School. Demonstrating determination and ambition, she earned her GED at just 16 years old. She continued her education at Housatonic Community College before attending Yale University, where she earned her degree in Accounting.

Catherine built an admirable career through hard work and dedication. She worked for Modern Plastics for more than 10 years before serving as a bus driver with Laidlaw for over 20 years. Her commitment to excellence eventually led her to Sonoco Products in Hartsville, South Carolina, where she worked as a Supply Chain Analyst until her retirement in June 2021.

Her greatest transformation came when she became a faithful member of Faith Revival Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, under the leadership of Bishop James Shannon. It was there that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a decision that became the foundation of her life. Her faith remained steadfast, providing strength, peace, and encouragement to those around her.

In 1988, Catherine met the love of her life, Richard Robinson of South Carolina. The two were united in marriage and were blessed with two beloved children. In 2003, they moved to Hartsville, South Carolina, their home, where Catherine continued her career and faithfully served her family and community.

Catherine will be remembered for her intelligence, unwavering work ethic, deep faith, loving heart, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished friend whose legacy of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Carrie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Robinson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her beloved children: Demetria (William) Rogers, Bonai (Jeff) Hair, Harry (Kathleen) Bell, George (Lucilla) Johnson, Marion (Shyla) Johnson, John Johnson, Louis Robinson, William (Denise) Paylor, and Vashti (Christopher) Lucky; 24 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren; siblings: Darlene (Kenneth) White, William White Jr., Jerry (Barbarba) White, Dorothy (James) Farmer and James White; along with a host of family members, relatives, church family, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love and memories she shared.

Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she is now resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior, free from pain and rejoicing in eternal peace. Her life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and love, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
