It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Clarin Bacote.
Mr. Bacote passed away on Friday, January 03, 2025 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
The family will receive friends at:
605 Stanley Circle, Darlington, SC from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters”.

Clarin M Bacote affectionately known as Bunny was born on April 11, 1941 in Darlington, SC. He was the son of Coker and Annie O. Antrum Bacote who had preceded him in death. Our dearly beloved Bunny departed on January 3, 2025.
He graduated with the class of 1959 from Butler High School in Hartsville, SC. After graduation, he moved to New Haven, CT and started working at Sargent Manufacturing from 09/1959 to 07/1989 and retired 05/01/2003. He also retired from the Yale University Cleaning Crew. He moved back to Darlington, SC and began employment at Georgia Pacific Dixie Cup and also retired from there. Bunny was also a member of The Yale Part-Time Social Club in New Haven, CT. He then turned his hobbies of woodworking into a club called the Three O Dudes and enjoyed collecting small model cars.
Bunny was a member of Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he resigned from the Trustee Board and served on the Usher Ministry and was a recipient of the Shining Star Award. Bunny was a kind spirited person who passionately helped others throughout the community by sharing scriptures, giving financial advice, and educating loved ones about the family history.
Bunny joined his loved ones in heaven: Brother Edward Harris, and his sisters Clarice Bacote and Carolyn N Bacote and ex wife and longtime friend, Lizzie Mae Bacote.
Left to cherish his memory are: his loving daughters, Sonya Y Bacote and Kimberly A Bacote; granddaughters Kandace S Whaley and Brittany S Bacote; Sisters and brothers: Cecelia B. Cohens, Constance (Robert) McCain, Charles (Helen) Bacote; Carl (Josephine) Bacote; Claudette Toney; Honorary Son: Tarrance McPhail; Stepchildren: MacArthur Mention, Stephanie Mention, and Reginald Mention; Special Friends who created the Three O Dudes Roosevelt Wallace, and John Wilson; a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, friends, and associates.
