Eddie Lee Cooley

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Eddie Lee Cooley .

Mr. Cooley passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”     

      Revelation 21:4

Eddie Cooley was blessed with life on February 15th, 1939 to his parents, Ed and Annie Bell Cooley. God called him home on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025. He was born and raised in Bishopville, SC. He attended the public schools of Lee County, SC. He liked fishing, working on automobiles and carpentry.

Eddie moved to Baltimore, Maryland in his early teens. He worked in Construction for 30 years. Eddie moved back to Sumter, SC where he resided until he was called home. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Great-Great Grandfather.

Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memories to: his children:

Edwina (Antonio) Cooley, Sharon (Robert) Chatman and Wayne Cooley of

Sumter, SC, Micael (DVet) Cooley of Lawrenceville, GA, John (Dorothy) Cooley of

Marietta, GA, and Crystal Cooley, Dan Jel Cooley, Ebony Cooley, Jermaine

Cooley and Derrick Cooley of Baltimore, MD; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and brothers: Robert Lee Cooley, Jessie Cooley and Bobby Cooley.

Eddie was preceded in death by: his wife, Karen Smith Cooley; parents, Ed and Annie Bell Cooley; and brothers and sister, Eddie Jr. Cooley, Charles Cooley, Pee Wee Lighty and Gedell Harris.
