Elder George Timmons Jackson

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Elder George Jackson.

Elder Jackson transitioned on Monday, August 17, 2026.

The family will receive friends at: 821 Sunny Hill Drive, Hartsville, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC, of Hartsville, SC.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4: 7-8

 In the early morning hours of August 17, 2026, Elder George Timmons Jackson was called home to be with his Lord and Savior with his devoted wife by his side. 

Elder Jackson preciously entered the world on Tuesday, September 18, 1951, in Hartsville, SC. He was the son of the late Minnie Fields Jackson and Jefferson Jackson. He met and married the love of his life, Willene Larry and they became one as they pledged their love before God and man. They were married for 55+ years and their union was blessed with six children: Zelvalon, George Jr., Andrea, Gregory, Gary, and Gemal. 

Elder Jackson gave his life to the Lord, received the Holy Ghost and began preaching at the Household of Faith Holy Church of the Living God. Oh, what joy flood his soul as Jesus took control. He loved God with all his might as he continued in daily prayer with his family three times a day. He served in many capacities including: church musicians, photography, and the printing press creating church publications. He was appointed and served as Assistant Pastor to Elder (Bishop) R. O. Johnson for 28 years at Household of Faith Church #3, Hartsville. He Evangelized in Pinehurst, NC for several years praying and making disciples for Jesus Christ. He served as the Pastor of Church #3, Hartsville for eight years. In 2012, he started and pastored The House of Prayer until his health declined. 

Elder George enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a philanthropist who gave relentlessly. 

Elder Jackson was a graduate of Butler High School and Florence-Darlington Technical College. He dedicated many years to serving his community through his work at Coker Pedigree Seed Company and Gold Leaf Seed Company. He was also an entrepreneur owning and operating Gemal’s Gift & Such, and G&G Cleaning Service. 

Elder Jackson was a faithful member of the Lion’s Club and he served in the community as a Youth Counselor at the YMCA for 20 years. 

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Minnie Jackson and Jefferson Jackson and brothers, Jay Harvey Jackson and Charles Jackson. 

Elder Jackson is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Willene; children: Zelvalon (Marvin) McCall, George Jr., Andrea (Timothy) Lucky, Gregory (Claudine), Gary, and Gemal; twenty grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Evingerlean Blakney, Mary Jackson, Annie (Lewis) Brodie, Dorothy ackson, Willie (Rosa) Jackson, Johnny Jackson, Ernest (Alice) Jackson and Ronnie Baker; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and a vast village of nieces, nephews, and family at heart throughout South Carolina and abroad. 

A special thank you is extended to Agape Hospice Group and to a special cousin, Brooks Peterson, for the unwavering love, care, and support shown to Elder Jackson. Your compassion, dedication, and presence brought comfort to him and his family during a difficult time.
