Ms. Eveline Freshley was born on March 21, 1955, in Kershaw County, SC, to the late Leroy and Annie Mae Freshley. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, SC.

Sister Eveline received her education through the Kershaw County Public School System. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a daycare provider for her sister’s daycare and providing compassionate care to the elderly. Eveline found joy in attending church, shopping, lending a helping hand to those in need, and cherishing precious moments with her family.

At an early age, she joined Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Bethune, SC, where she served as a devoted member of the Usher Ministry. As life’s journey led her to Hartsville, she united with Second Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee. In later years, she became a cherished member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC, where she continued her walk with the Lord. She was also a proud former member of the United Order of Tents in Hartsville, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Freshley; her mother, Annie Mae Freshley; two sisters, Annie Ruth Dinkins and Willie Bell Freshley; and one brother, Lewis Freshley.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory of two devoted sisters, Mary J. Young and Linda  A. Freshley, both of Hartsville, SC; three nieces, Evangeline (Ethan) Freshley-Nelson of Charleston, SC, Renee Freshley of Columbus, GA and Colleen (Barry) of Conway, SC; nephew, Robert (Tonya) Brockenbury; one aunt, Sara Haggins, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
