We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Foster Cooper. 

Mr. Cooper passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at MUSC Florence.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.


Foster  was  born on March 4, 1951 to Ettie Lou Crawford in Hartsville, SC. He loved sports and music. That led him to be on the football team, in the band and on the chorus in school. He graduated from Butler High School in 1970. In 1971, he married Linda Peterson, and this union was blessed with three beautiful children.

In 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 2 tours in Germany. In 1983, he was honorably discharged after achieving an expert marksman and Commander rank of the Tank Division.

Foster passed away on January 31, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ettie Lou Crawford; and nephew Allen Crawford.


He is survived by his three children Evonne Cooper, Marcel (Cris) Cooper, Laresa Cooper; two grandsons Tyrone Garrison Jr., and Phillip (Lacie) Richards; one great-granddaughter Kenzie Richards; three brothers Ronnie Peterson, Eddie Dee Crawford, and Marion Crawford; and his former wife Linda Cooper;  and a host of family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Palms at Florence, McLeod Regional Hospital, and MUSC Health for their care of Foster through his illnesses.
