Foster Alexander Pemberton

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Foster A. Pemberton.  

Mr. Pemberton passed away on
Thursday, January 4, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. 

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC.

Mr. Foster Alexander Pemberton was born on December 21, 1945 in McAlvin, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Calvin Pemberton and the late Helen Davis Pemberton. 

Foster and Jessie Pemberton wed in holy matrimony in 1967 and were happily married for 56 years. Foster was a hardworking man who had a special love for cars. He retired from Drake Bakery after 34 years of service. He was a member of Grace Chapel in Peterson, New Jersey where he served as Treasurer. He was also a Mason at St. James #16 Free and excepted ancient York Wright Mason, Newark, NJ.

Foster was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Pemberton; mother, Helen Davis Pemberton; step-mother, Arrie Pemberton; brothers: Charles Pemberton, Gene Pemberton and George Pemberton and grandson, Jerome Dance.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are: his loving wife, Jessie M. Pemberton; children: Carolyn (Jerome) Dance, Angie (Chris) Pemberton and Foster Pemberton, Jr.; sisters: Estella (Harrison) Anderson and Alien (George) Finklin; brother, Rev. Samuel R. Pemberton; 7 grandchildren: Jada (Clarence) Mungo, Jasmine Pemberton, Xavier Pemberton, Nidya Bacote, Marques Pemberton, TiLan Smith Pemberton and Jewel Foxworth; 3 great-grandchildren: Izair Perry, Jackson Pemberton and Jelaina Scarborough; sister-in-law, Loriene Roderick; bestfriends: Lee Mahan and Ron Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
