It is with sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Freddie Wilson, Jr.


Mr. Wilson passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.


The family will receive friends at: 321 Security Drive, Hartsville, SC.


Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC, of Hartsville, SC.

 Freddie Wilson Jr., affectionately known as “Big Bubba,” was born on May 27, 1953, in Hartsville, South Carolina, to the late Freddie Wilson Sr. and Ruth Wilson. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Though Freddie has left this earthly pain, his presence in our hearts shall remain. We celebrate his life, filled with grace, with tears and laughter; we embrace. 

Freddie was a graduate of Hartsville High School, Class of 1971. He went on to build a long career as a truck driver, spending over 20 years with LandAir and also working as an owner-operator. 

Freddie enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. His joyful spirit and warm sense of humor brought smiles to everyone around him. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football every chance he had. He also enjoyed watching classic westerns on television. Freddie will always be remembered for the laughter, love, and joy he shared with his family and friends.

Freddie was preceded in death by: his father, Freddie Wilson Sr.; mother, Ruth Wilson; son, Quincy Richardson; daughter, Ladrenda Wilson; and brother, Glenn Allen, of New York. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Lois Wilson; stepdaughter, Anglois J. Waiters; sisters, Lois L. Wilson of Hartsville and Gloria (Johnny) Jacobs of Darlington, SC; brothers, John Jackson of Greenville, SC and Johnny Lee Wilson of Darlington, SC; ten grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; a special nephew, Cameron McPhail; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives, and friends.
