Henrietta Brown Hickman

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ms. Henrietta Hickman.

Ms. Hickman passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville, SC.

The family will receive friends at:

14 McKel Circle, Bishopville, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home of Hartsville, SC.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Today we honor Henrietta Brown Hickman, a person who walked closely with God and poured love into every life they encountered. Her strength came from her faith, and her life was a testament to God’s promises. We grieve, but we also celebrate a life lived with purpose, knowing their spirt lives on in Christ and in our hearts. 

Henrietta was born May 21, 1954, in Bishopville SC to Boyd Brown and Lucille Cooley. She gained her wings and went to dwell in the house of the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2025. 

Henrietta worked for Lee County Courthouse for eight years. She transitioned to Hartsville and was employed by the Hilton Hotel for two years until her retirement. Henrietta loved reading her Bible and doing Bible puzzles on her tablet. She enjoyed spending time with her with her family, especially her grandkids. She also found pleasure in dancing.

 Henrietta was a member of Believer’s Temple Holiness Church. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband Elijah Hickman; parents Boyd Brown and Lucille Cooley; two sisters Elizabeth Cooley Wilson and Shirley Lighty; two brothers Will Brown and John Cooley. 

Surviving family members that will carry on Henrietta’s legacy and cherish her memories are children, Shawanda Brown, Bernard Hickman, Melinda Brown and Terry Brown; grandchildren, Tangalear (Tangie) Huggins, Carquivas Mitchell, Ne’Vaehjah Robinson, Tocoa Robinson Jr; Takisha Jones, Darian Brown, Tyra Capheart, Zy’Marion Pettis, Keshawyn Huggins, and SKylar Canty; Great Grandchildren, Jeremy Robinson, Je’Mir Robinson, Jahiem Robinson, I’Shann, Naomi Brown, Navaeh Brown, and Bella Smith; siblings Nina Prince, Salone Brown, Ricky Harris, Janie Harris and Henry Lee Harris; sister in law, Apostle Ada Bell Brown; special friend Abraham Thompson; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
