It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Bro. James Abraham.


Bro. Abraham passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026.


The family will receive friends at: 122 St. Charles Road, Bishopville, SC.


Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.


Bro. James Abraham was born on March 11, 1957, in Lee County, SC. He was the son of the late Bro. Spurgeon and Sis. Bernice Abraham. He departed this life on Sunday morning, March 22, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Pamplico, SC. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 Educated in Lee County’s public schools, James was known for his productivity and lifelong commitment to hard work. An avid outdoorsman, he excelled at raising animals, butchering hogs and fishing. He was also a dedicated gardener who shared his produce with his church family, community and others in need. He had a kind heart and was a giving person. His professional life began at the Thomasville Furniture Company and evolved into a career in truck driving, where he handled both long and short-distance routes. 

He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and was a member of The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostles Doctrine, Inc. 

James was preceded in death by: his parents, Bro. Spurgeon and Sis. Bernice Abraham; brothers: Larry Abraham and Spurgeon Abraham, Jr.; and sisters: Betty Jean Abraham,Shuler, Liz Gilmore, and Doretha Abraham, 

James leaves behind to cherish his memories: his son, Travis (Jonita) Cooper of Bishopville, SC; daughters: Nekeeshia (Jackie) Smith of Florence, SC and India Taylor of Pamplico, SC; grandchildren: Jaquis, Travon, Justice, Ma’Kai, I’Yonn, Jasmine, Ja’Nasia, Amil, Khya and Nylashia; great-grandchildren: Dalaia, Taylen and Dalani; brothers: Bro. Willie (Maggie) Abraham of Timmonsville, SC and Mr. Charles Abraham of Darlington, SC; sisters: Celia Mae Jackson of Phoenix, AZ, Sis. Julia Mae Abraham of Hartsville, SC, Annie Lee Abraham of Wilmington, NC, Sis. Linda Abraham of Lamar, SC, Sis. Carolyn Abraham of Hartsville, SC, and Pearlie Abraham of Darlington, SC; aunts: Patricia Ann Moody of White Plains, NY, and Mae Boyd of Bishopville, SC; special friends: all his brethren of The Church in the Lord Jesus Christ, and Tammy and Trey Copeland of Lamar, SC; several nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives, friends, and a large church family.
