“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. “ 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Today we pay tribute to Mr. Jamie Lee Hough. Our beloved Jamie passed away after a brave battle with cancer, leaving us far too soon. He faced every challenge with courage beyond his years and brought light to everyone around him. His absence leaves a deep ache, but his memory will continue to guide and comfort us.

Jamie was born January 8, 1978, in Hartsville, SC to Hercules and Jeanette Hough. He departed his earthly home on Friday, September 4, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.

Jamie graduated from Hartsville High School, Class of 1997, stepping into adulthood with the determination and quiet strength that would define his life.

Jamie was a member of Hartsville Bible Baptist Church where he found strength, purpose, and community in his walk with Christ.

Jamie found joy in the simple pleasures — firing up the grill, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. These moments brought him comfort and connection, reflecting the warmth he carried within him.

Jamie was preceded in death by: his parents, Hercules and Jeanette Hough; son, Ja’Quez Johnson; and brother, Otis Hough.

Jamie leaves behind loved ones who will forever cherish his lasting memories: children, D’Andra (Jaren) Palmer and D’Eaira Johnson; grandchild, Cimoni Clover Johnson; siblings: Bobby (Lucy) McMillan, Dorothy (Lonnie) Etheridge, Sharon Hough, Hermena Hough, and Teanita James; special nephew, Jonathan Hough; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.

Jamie fought a good fight with quiet courage. He finished his course with strength and grace, and kept the faith, even through the hardest seasons of his journey. Though his time here was shorter than we hoped, his testimony was full. His impact was meaningful, and his devotion to God never wavered. May his life continue to inspire perseverance, compassion, and unwavering faith in all who cherish his memory.
