“I have fought a good fight. I have kept the faith. I have finished my course. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord The righteousness judge shall give me at a day and not to me only but unto all them also love his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:6-8)

Jerome Douglas was born on November 16, 1967, in Maxton, North Carolina, to Henry “Nank” and Lizzy Douglas. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, he departed this earthly life.

Jerome received his early education in the Robeson County school system before continuing his studies at North Carolina A&T State University and Shaw University.

In his free time, Jerome enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was washing his car, tending to his lawn, or caring for his cats. He could often be found relaxing in his recliner while watching Gunsmoke or spending early mornings at Refuel, enjoying a cup of coffee and good conversation.

Jerome was a devoted servant to his church and community. He was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Mt. Rona Lodge No. 348, Ashland Consistory No. 246, and Mt. Rona Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 233.
