It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Larry Brailey.

Mr. Brailey passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at MUSC in Florence.

The family will receive friends at:

324 Patrick Highway, Hartsville, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.


“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Today we honor the life and memory of Larry Denelle Brailey. Larry was born September 8, 1981, to Lillie Mae Brailey and Larry Johnson. He went to his eternal home on Thursday, May 1, 2025.

Larry was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a deep love for family, and he found joy in spending time with family. His favorite pastime was watching football and basketball. His passing has left a void in the hearts of family and friends. Although Larry’s physical appearance may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.

Larry was preceded in death by grandparents Swen and Pauline Brailey, Mary Jane Hunter and James Walter Hunter; uncles Johnny Brailey and Robert A. Brailey.

Larry is survived and greatly missed by parents Lille Mae Brailey and Larry Johnson; son A’mir Brailey; siblings Derrick (Jessica) Scott, Tanorris Brailey, Joseph Brailey, Cherie Brailey and Robert D. Brailey; aunts and uncles Delaine Gattison, Janie Mae (Ronnie) Sellers, Jeanette Hunter, Paulette (Larry) McCall, Ivory (Susan) Johnson, Tony Hunter, Jerome Hunter, Martinie Hunter, Cora Mae Pompey, Geraldine (Sammie) Jackson, Tommie Lee (Lois Ann) Johnson, Martha Ann (Tommy) McCall; Virginia Washington, Hartsville SC; Memberee Williams, Jamaica NY; and Moshi Washington, Raleigh NC; special friend Ronnie Lynn Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives and friends.

Rest in peace, Larry, we love you, but God loved you best!
