Lena Miller

We regret to announce the passing of Ms. Lena Miller. 

 Ms. Miller passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. 

 The family will receive friends at 1440 Thorngate Circle, Hartsville, SC. 

 Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy lade, & I will give you rest.

Ms. Lena Miller “Leanmeat” as she was affectionally called was born on October 26, 1945, to the late Mose and Mary Miller of Kershaw County, SC. Lena gained her heavenly wings on July 04, 2024.

Lena was raised in a happy and loving Christian home. She was very easy to get along with. She graduated from Butler High School. She worked as a dedicated Home Health Aide and Factory Worker in Paterson, New Jersey. She later relocated back to South Carolina.

Lena was a member of Southside Baptist Church and had a passion for cooking, gardening and shopping. She enjoyed collecting antiques and various whatnots. Additionally, she loved traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Lena is survived by her son, Michel Miller, “Cheeze,” (Tawanna) who was her pride and joy.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Mary Miller; four sisters: Lucille Epps, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Green, and Brunette Holly; five brothers: Mose Miller, Jr., Benjamin, Willie, John, and Leroy Miller.

She leaves to mourn six grandchildren: Taylor and Tyler Bates of Hempstead, NY, Jeyuan and Tynasia Miller of Bay Shore, NY, and Stephen and Shequila Wagner; eight great-grandchildren; three siblings: Mamie (Wilton) Whitehurst, Patrica (Robert) Miller and David Miller of Hartsville, SC; one sister-in-law: Alma(Rena) Miller of Miami, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
