Louis Delane

I’m It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Louis Delaine. 

 Mr. Delaine passed away at his residence on Friday, July 5, 2024.

 The family will receive friends until 9:00 PM at 2553 Clement Street, Lydia, SC. 

 Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Mr. Louis Delane, son of the late Lucius Delane and Lizzie Hickman Delane, was born February 01, 1948, in Lee County, South Carolina. On Friday, July 05, 2024, he departed this earthly life from labor to reward with the Master.

Louis attended Lee County Public Schools. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a dedicated employee with Dawkins Concrete as a Concrete Motor Grater for more than 20 years.

Louis was a highly gifted, self-taught guitarist, an excellent pool player and had a deep passion for fishing.

Louis was loved by many and will be remembered for his love of life and his love for his family. He will truly be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Williams Jett, his son, Jamie Duckson Lonzell, and two brothers: Lucius Delane, Jr. and Hanny Lee Delane.

Surviving to cherish his memory are: his wife, Yvonne Delane two sons: Brian Williams and Lucius (Phylicia) Delane; three daughters: Yvette (Late Dennis) Norris, Natasha (Lorenzo) Davis, Natoya Pooler (Demario); Carrie Mae Johnson; two sisters: Rosa Mae (Late Malachi)Dargan and Thomasina(Roland)Lucas; God-daughter, Maychelle Dixon; special friend, Zethanie McDonald; bestfriend, Acey Cotton; special nieces: Chandra (Kwan) Williams, Julia (Gary) Jones, and Janet Miller; special nephew, Bobby (Delane) Durant; 21 Grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other close relatives and dear friends.
