It is with heavy hearts that we regret to inform you of the passing of Ms. Lillie Brailey.
Ms. Brailey passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at McLeod Hospice in Florence, SC.
The family will receive friends at:
141 East Gate Drive, Hartsville, SC.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26
Today, we gather not just to mourn the loss of Ms. Lillie Mae Brailey Jackson, but to celebrate her incredible life and the joy she brought to all of us. As we say goodbye to Lillie Mae, we take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of her Savior. As it says in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.”
Lillie Mae was born March 29, 1964, in Hartsville, SC to Swen and Pauline Vaughn Brailey. She departed this earthly life on Monday, September 27, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center Hospice House.
Lillie Mae attended the public schools of Darlington County School District. She had a strong work ethic and worked several jobs throughout her life to provide for and support her family. She began as a cook at Johnnie’s Truck Stop in Society Hill, SC. Several years later, she worked for the South Carolina School Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville where she dedicated twelve years of service. Lastly, she was employed at The Carriage House as a cook and server.
Lillie Mae was a member of Hope of Glory Temple in Society Hill, SC. Despite the challenges, she never let bitterness take root. She was a woman of unwavering faith and strength. Lillie Mae had a heart full of love and faith that carried her through every challenge because of the relationship that she had with the Lord Jesus Christ.
In her pastime, Lille Mae found happiness and love in cooking. She also found amusement in watching Lifetime Television shows. Her most precious moments were the times that she spent with her family.
Lille Mae was preceded in death by: her parents, Swen and Pauline Vaughn Brailey; son, Larry Brailey; sister, Mary Ann Hart of New York; and four brothers: Trusidel Brailey, Eddie Hart, Johnny Hart, and Robert Brailey.
Surviving to cherish Lillie Mae’s precious memories and to carry on her legacy are: her husband, Michael Edward Jackson, children: Tanorris and Joseph Brailey of Hartsville, SC; eight grandchildren; siblings: Brenda Kahn, John Henry Brailey, Alvin Brailey, Sr. and Simon (Sharon) Brailey, Martha (Tommy) McCall, all of Hartsville, SC, Susan (Ivory) Johnson of Darlington, SC and Sandra Jackson and Robert Brailey, both of Florence, SC; goddaughter, Jasmine Tucker, of Charlotte, NC; best friend, Bernessa Knox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives and friends.
Spread your wings and fly proudly, Lillie Mae Brailey. You have earned your heavenly reward.
