Madaline Brown

December 16, 1975 — October 13, 2025

Hartsville

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Ms. Madaline Brown.

Ms. Brown passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”            Revelation 21:3-4 (NIV)

Ms. Madaline Monic Brown was born on December 16, 1975, in Hartsville, SC to her loving parents, Dorothy J. Brown and the late Howard Brown, Jr. Madaline departed this earthly life on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Madaline was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. She attended Hartsville High School where she received her high school diploma with the graduating class of 1995. Madaline was employed with Bartlett Nuclear as a Nuclear Technician.

Madaline was affiliated with a Non-denominational church.

The name Madaline means “woman from Magdala” or “high tower,” as it is of French and Hebrew origin and derived from the biblical word meaning Magdalene. Madaline was our spiritual “high tower!” Madaline was spiritually connected to a sacred being while having the vulnerabilities and imperfections of a human being. She had a love for GOD and his son JESUS CHRIST that often transcended beyond human beings’ understanding. She expressed it daily in many forms among family, friends, and strangers. She was a powerful prayer warrior who utilized her spiritual gifts given from GOD to edify the kingdom of GOD. There are many people who encountered her presence that were often left in awe. She touched the lives of both the young and the old. Her strongest love language was praying for others while edifying her love for GOD simultaneously. We all know that what’s understood does not have to be explained.

Madaline Monic Brown as we affectionately called “Mo” was the epitome of strength, diligence, grace, boldness, courage, and selflessness. Family was the reason why she breathed. She loved allthings family. She had a passion for cooking and baking. She has nourished many bodies yearning for a good home cooked meal. She always made sure they had a to-go plate and a to-go word of encouragement as well. She knowingly fed your physical body and spiritual body. She loved to travel and try exotic foods. She would often make dishes that no one could duplicate or replicate. She was our “high tower” in every way imaginable! Madaline was truly a gift from GOD although far from perfect she was perfect for us. Her transition has left us tremendously heartbroken and truly devastated but she taught us all that GOD’S grace is sufficient enough in any situation and that prayer can transform your life!

Madaline was preceded in death by: her father, Howard Brown, Jr.; sister, Demetrie E. Ingram; maternal grandparents, James and Nishie Austin; paternal grandparents, Howard and Mattie Brown; uncles, Booker T. Austin and George Brown; and aunts: Shirley Davis, Betty Lattaker and Patricia Smith.
