It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Ms. Mamie Vernon.
Ms. Vernon passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The family will receive friends at: 324 Poole Street, Hartsville, SC.
Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Our beloved Mamie Wilson Vernon-cherished mother, grandmother, and friend- passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 20, 2026. Mamie was born in Hartsville, SC on November 20, 1943, to Johnnie and Mamie Wilson.
Mamie was a lifetime member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in both the Senior Choir and the Gospel Choir.
Mamie received her formal education at Butler High School, Class of 1962. She was employed by Defender Industries as a custodian and later worked at WalMart.
Mamie enjoyed working in her garden and cleaning. She loved cooking. She was full of laughter and found joy in making others laugh. She adored her grandchildren and cherished spending time with her classmates, often engaging in warm and lively beautiful soul will be fondly remembered. conversations. She also found joy in traveling. One time, Mamie and Lisa (her sister-in- law) drove 18 hours to the state of Texas. They laughed throughout the entire trip.
Mamie’s kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of many, and her beautiful soul will be fondly remembered.
Mamie was preceded in death by: her parents, Johnnie and Mamie Wilson; husband, Howard Vernon; children: Timothy Vernon, Chris Vernon and Jacqueline Vernon; and siblings: John H. Wilson, Rachel Wilson-Dixon, and Sam Wilson.
Mamie is survived by: her sons, Howard Vernon and Micheal Vernon; grandchildren: Howard Vernon, Raymond Vernon, Timothy Vernon Jr., Michael Vernon Jr., Trenee Vernon, Jhyleighsa Vernon, Shemei Vernon, Tyquanda Singleton, Christopher Vernon, and Jacquline Vernon; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
Mamie will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
