“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day…” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)
Ms. Rosetta Cabbagestalk was born on October 22, 1950, to the late Parrish and Dorothy Smith Cabbagestalk. She was the seventh child out of ten children with one surviving sister, Elizabeth Cabbagestalk of New York, New York. Rosetta went home to be with the Lord where her soul is at rest on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Rosetta was educated in the Darlington County School District. She was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1968. In her early years, Rosetta worked at Byerly Hospital, and she relocated to Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center where she worked for forty years in the food service department. She was a pleasant person to all who knew her.
Rosetta was a member of Nathan Temple Holiness Church. Rosetta lived with a heart full of faith, reflecting Christ’s love in every action. Isaiah 41:10 (KJV) speaks to her strength and the comfort that even in her hardest times, God was holding her together.
1 Timothy 4:7-8 is bold and beautiful, honoring her resilience, her faith, and the rest she now deserves. We rejoice in knowing that she is now at peace and her legacy of faith will continue to inspire us all.
Rosetta found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, listening to gospel music, and watching western shows. She loved her fried chicken and her morning cup of coffee. Rosetta also enjoyed reminiscing about the past.
Rosetta was preceded in death by: her parents, Parrish and Dorothy Smith Cabbagestalk; two children, Terrence Andro Cabbagestalk and Brittany Bianca Williams; brothers, Parrish and Roosevelt Cabbagestalk; sisters: Louise Eaddy, Mildred Thomas, Dorothy Mae Cabbagestalk, Betty Jean Brown, Barbara McDonald, and Patrica Cabbagestalk Sharp.
Surviving to cherish her fondest memories are: her grandchildren: Ashanna Williams, Ahmeontoe Washington, Jessie Milaysia, Emani McGee and Robert Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Noelani Canteen; daughter-in-law, Sebrina Cabbagestalk; sister, Elizabeth Cabbagestalk; God-daughter, Sophia Streater; special cousin, Syreeta Cabbagestalk Best; Michelle Cabbagestalk Coe (“her left and right hand”); special nieces: Laquashia Coe, Tykerria Coe, and Jamaica McDonald; special nephews, Paris Cabbagestalk and Kamari McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
