“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

Ms. Roslyn Catrice Smith, 32, left us far too soon on Friday, September 4, 2026. Born on October 14, 1993, to Michael J. Wilds and Cassandra R. Smith. Rosyln was a vibrant, kind-hearted soul who brought immeasurable joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Her bright smile and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Even as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we are reminded of the profound promise that we do not walk alone. God is with us!

Roslyn was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and cherished member of her family. She was lovingly raised by her paternal grandparents, Jerome and Pastor Janie M. Wilds, whom she affectionately called “Ma”. Ma was a loving and guiding presence in Roslyn’s life and played an important role in raising her. Another mother figure who held a special and important place in Roslyn’s life was her aunt, Gloria Jean Ancrum, along with her aunt, Eldress Barbara Johnson. Their love, guidance, and presence helped shape the woman Roslyn became.

Roslyn received her High School Diploma from Darlington High School. She worked for Darlington County School System until she could no longer work due to health issues.

Roslyn was a member of Shining Light Pentecostal Holiness Church in Darlington, SC, under the leadership of her grandmother, Pastor Janie M. Wilds. She was taught at a very early age up until her departure that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

Roslyn, known for her remarkably humble and sweet spirit, brought a quiet joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rosyln found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved her children and family very much and treasured the time she shared with them. She was full of life and was never afraid to speak her mind. Her strong personality, loving heart, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of many.

Roslyn was preceded in death by: her grandfathers, Jerome Wilds and Johnny Samuel; grandmother, Caledonia Smith; brother, Johnathan Smith; uncle, Elder Bruce E. Johnson; and cousin, Little James Collins.

Those left to cherish Rosalyn’s precious memory and continue her legacy include: her grandmother, Pastor Janie M. Wilds “Ma”; two precious, loving daughters, Heaveni Latrice White and Haley Grace White; parents, Bishop Michael (Willistine) Wilds and Cassandra (Stephen) Banks; sisters, Shanice (Tony) Wilson and Britteany Smith; and a special sister figure that was always in her life, Corinthian (Larry) Robinson.

Roslyn will also be lovingly remembered by her aunts: Minister Judy Wilds, Gloria Jean Ancrum, Carolyn Baker, and Angela (Lamonte) McPherson; uncles, Gary and Timothy Smith; goddaughter, Marlyland Smith; and ten nieces and nephews.

Roslyn also leaves special memories with: her cousins: Jammie Smith, Me’Asia, Imani Grant, Chrstian Johsnon, Tabitha (Adam) Melton, Edwina George, and Crystal George; along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends who loved her.

As we say our earthly goodbyes to Roslyn, we hold tight to the enduring promises of Psalm 23. The Lord has restored her soul and led her home. Safe from all trials, Roslyn is now at total peace, resting eternally in the loving arms of her Shepherd.
