Ms. Coe passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Mother Sara Lee Coe, beloved matriarch, devoted servant of God, and Church Mother of Southside Freewill Baptist Church, entered her eternal rest on November 7, 2025 at the blessed age of 94.
Born on October 4, 1931, Sara Lee lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was known for her unwavering devotion to the Lord, her nurturing spirit, and her deep love for everyone she met. As Church Mother, she guided generations with wisdom, prayer, and steadfast love, leaving a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mother Coe was the proud mother of 12 children, whom she raised with grace, patience, and strength. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always ready to give. She found joy in singing hymns, cooking for her family and church, and sharing the Word of God.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her example inspired countless others to walk with Christ. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives, friends, and church family who will cherish her memory and carry her spirit forward.
Mother Sara Lee Coe’s life was a living testimony of faith, love, and perseverance. Though she is no longer with us in body, her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Murray and Sara McCall; husband, Willie Coe Sr.; three daughters: Patricia Shaw, Brenda Brown, and Gloria Hudson; sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Rosa Kennedy; brothers. Jessie and James McCall; daughter-in-law JoAnn Coe; three grandchildren: Renee Scott, Michelle Stukes, and Val Hudson.
Sara Lee Coe leaves to cherish and rejoice in her memories while perpetuating her legacy of love: nine children: Willie (Michelle) Coe Jr., Tommie (Maratha) McCall, Sarah (Kendell) Pouncey, Michael Coe, Ronnie (Betty) Coe, Doris (Frank) McFarland, Shelia Coe, Deborah (Alphonso) Sellers and Allen Coe; sisters: Shirley McCall and Janie McCall; brothers: David McCall and LeRay McCall; two sons-in-law, Thomas Shaw and Bobby Brown; forty-eight grandchildren; one hundred twenty-nine great-grandchildren; ninety-six great-great-grandchildren, and many friends that were dear to her heart.
