Today, we gather to celebrate the life of Ms. Shakaile LaShaun Johnson, a beloved child of God. Though her time with us was too short, we take comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in heaven with our Savior, where her joy is complete.
Born in Hartsville, SC on September 12, 1995, to Chuckie Shenard Campbell and Tony Lashaun Bailey, Shakaile will be remembered for her warmth, generosity and strength. Shakaile departed this earthly life on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Shakaile is a graduate of the Darlington County public school system, graduating from Hartsville High School in 2014. She obtained an Associates of Arts Degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College. Shakaile pursued a professional career with South Carolina Corrections, Basic Class 976A, class of 2023.
Shakaile had several hobbies and had a true passion for hair and make-up. She found creative expression through art and painting and she also enjoyed sports activities such as basketball, track, and volleyball.
Above all, Shakaile cherished and adored the time she spent with her children. She was a devoted mother to DuQuonne and Kadence, who were the center of her world. Shakaile was an exceptional mother and a remarkable person, embodying the finest qualities-unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that was evident in the way she cared for her family and friends.
Shakaile was preceded in death by: her mother, Toney Bailey Johnson Stevenson; brother, Darryl Jeremiah Stevenson; grandfather, Antonio Johnson; grandmother, Deloris Annette Campbell; and uncle, Antonio Lorenzo Brown.
Surviving to cherish Shakaile’s memories are: her father, Chuckie Shenard (Sherry) Campbell; children, DuQuonne Kylil Leatch and Kadence Alona Leatch; grandmother, Ruth Johnson; grandfather, Jerome Frierson Bay; siblings: Antwaun Stevenson, Courtney Kelley, Christian Manning, Darius (Rickeya) Campbell, Kaiya Morris, Tiyon (Mia) Evans, and Dazani Campbell; close aunt, Antonett (Traci) Brown-Toney; special friends, Alexis Samuel and DuQuonne Leatch; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives and friends.
Though Shakaile is no longer with us, her legacy will remain with us forever.
