It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Ms. Shakiyra Carter.

Ms. Carter passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The family will receive friends at: 314 S. McFarland Street, Hartsville, SC.

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Ms. Shakiyra Carter, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 41, after a courageous battle with cancer. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow; our souls seek solace, to honor and remember a life that was short in duration but enormous in its impact. A life that was a beacon of light in our world, the life of our beloved, Shakiyra. 

Shakiyra was born to Lesa Carter and Levern Jackson on January 3, 1984, in Darlington County. She received her formal education in Darlington County Public School System, graduating from Hartsville High School.

Shakiyra’s greatest joy and pleasure was spending time with her kids, watching Christmas movies and Disney movies.

Shakiyra’s journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the positive impact she had on everyone, fortunate enough to have known her.

Shakiyra is survived by her loving family and friends, who will forever hold dear memories: parents, Lesa Carter and Levern Jackson; children: D’ajhai Hamilton, Demaryon Hamilton, and Shacoreya Hamilton; siblings: Janel Carter, Erica McLeod, Sherlwin Carter, and Antwain Carter; special friend, Rodney Brockington; and aunts, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends. 

Rest peacefully, dear Shakiyra. Your light will never fade from our hearts.
