Sharon Marie Hawkins

July 26, 1961 — December 27, 2023

Give us strength so that we come out of this ordeal with our minds and hearts on Thee. Help us to realize you alone will and give us peace. Help us to understand that weeping endureth for a night but joy comes in the morning.

Lord, we never could have made it without you. You guided us with your hand allowing your grace and mercy to life our spirits and cleanse our hearts.

Sharon Hawkins’s Family and Friends

Love is the spirit of souls, the emotions of hearts. Love is the poetry of dreams, the dance of songs and souls of hearts. God granted Virgil the serenity to accept the things that he could not change, courage to change the things that he could and the wisdom to know the difference.

Ms. Sharon Marie Hawkins was the loving daughter of the late Albertus Hawkins Sr. and Geneva Jackson Hawkins. She was born in Darlington County on July 26, 1961.

Sharon was raised in a Christian home along with her sister and brothers. She was educated in the public-school system where she graduated from Hartsville High School, Class of 1979.

Sharon passionately known to family as “Shady” was called home to rest on December 27, 2023 at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston SC.

Sharon was very family-oriented, helping to raise her nieces and nephews as her own along with her own two beautiful daughters. She was a woman who believed that a family should work together and love one another. She was there for her family on all levels. Because of her love and concern for family, everyone loved, respected, and admired her to the fullest. Sharon was an inspiration to all who knew her and was special to her family and friends.

The joy of Sharon’s life was specifically spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished the time she spent with her nieces and nephews.
