Willie J. Outen

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Willie J. Outen. 

Mr. Outen passed away on Sunday,January 14,2024 at his residence in Hartsville, SC.

The family will receive friends at: 971 11th Street, McBee, SC from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (only). 

Arrangements will be announced by Davis Funeral Home, LLC of Hartsville, SC.

     But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.                                                                    Isaiah 40:31

Mr. Willie Junius Outen was born July 23, 1947, in McBee, SC. He was the son of the late Prince Johnson Outen and the late Mattie Bell Richardson Outen. He attended Pine Forest School.  

Willie worked diligently at A.O. Smith.  

Willie was a sharp dresser. He loved to joke with people and tell stories. He also loved nice things. If he saw it and liked it, he bought it. 

Willie had a tremendous love for his sisters and really enjoyed kidding around with them. His favorite food was tuna and potato salad.  

Willie socialized with people everywhere he went, especially at the Huddle House. He never met a stranger. He also enjoyed going to the Flea Market.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince Johnson Outen and Mattie Bell Richardson, sisters and brothers, Alonzo Outen, Elijah Outen, Maxine Outen Toney, Johnny Outen and Gussie Mack. 

Left to cherish his memories are: his children: Landy Outen of Bethune, SC, Timothy Outen of Columbia, SC, Angel Outen, and Lance Outen (Victoria Robinson), all of Hartsville, SC and Kenya Outen of Raleigh, NC; stepdaughter, Erica Jackson of Bronx, NY; sisters: Judy Adams of Florence, SC, Susie Black of McBee, SC, Doris (John) Thomas of Columbia, SC, Betty Outen of Camden, SC, and Emma (Floyd) Murphy, Teressa (Kenneth) King, Bernessa Wright and Virginia Neddham, all of McBee, SC; special friends: Leroy Patterson, Kenny Carington and a large group of Huddle House Friends; and a host of family and friends.
